Capt. Fred Rodriguez has been fishing the Lower Laguna Madre for 45 years .He is a native of South Texas and as enjoyed the great outdoors most all of his life. Fred is also the owner of the Texas Sportsman TV Show which is an outdoor show that airs in the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo,Texas. When you go fishing with Capt. Fred get ready to learn how to fish and have a great time. Get on board his 24 ft. Shallow Sport with plenty of room and storage compartments . Capt. Fred provides all the equipment and artificial lures and some bait. There are many different ways to fish and Capt. Fred usually goes with what is working all depending what time of the year it is. Fred is also a South Texas hunting guide for Whitetail and Exotics .He also guides for Dove ,Quail and Turkey hunts. Come and experience an awesome time either on the water or the great outdoors.

The Texas Sportsman is hosted by Fred Rodriguez, a native of South Texas. The outdoor TV show is about bringing the outdoors right into your home for your enjoyment. If the Texas Sportsman is fishing, you can count on learning something on the how and the why techniques.
The fishing shows are mainly done out of the Lower Laguna Madre area also known as South Padre Island and Port Isabel, Texas and of course we venture up to Arroyo City, Port Mansfield, and Corpus Christi, Texas. The Texas Sportsman will also go fishing up and down the Texas Gulf Coast and occasionally skip over to Louisiana. The Gulf of Mexico is also pursued by the Texas Sportsman as he goes out in pursuit of the trophies that await like Red Snapper, Mahi-Mahi, Black Fin and Yellow Fin Tuna and many more. The other side of the show is the pursuit of the great outdoors. Whether it’s shooting white wing or quail, ducks and turkeys. At the top of the list is the South Texas Trophy Whitetails and most of the exotics as well like Axis, Blackbuck and Fallow and always anticipating another hunt of the elusive South Texas Nilgai Bull.
Fred Rodriguez also owns and operates his own Texas Sportsman Outfitters. In addition to the Texas Sportsman Outdoor TV Show, we also own the Texas Sportsman Tracking Outdoor Magazine. The magazine is a regional magazine of now. We are planning on expanding it to other parts of Texas. In the last 6 months we have added an outdoor report on FM 100 K-TEX in the Rio Grande Valley where Fred will give out hotspots, tips, tide tables, and the best times to be in the great outdoors.
A big addition to the Texas Sportsman is Fred’s wife, Cindy Rodriguez, where she brings her knowledge and the love of fishing and hunting of the great outdoors to other women who love the great outdoors just like her. The Texas Sportsman aires in the Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi, Laredo and many other parts of the United States.
