Purchased in 1978 by Joe LaMantia Jr., L&F Distributors began as a family business with a single location in McAllen, TX and less than 20 employees. Being an Anheuser- Busch wholesaler, L&F focused on mega-brands such as Budweiser, Bud Light and Michelob. As the brands and the distributorship grew, L&F acquired the rights to the surrounding counties including the cities of Harlingen, Alice and Laredo. With the acquisition of the Laredo distributorship, L&F became the primary beer distributor along the South Texas border with Mexico.

The Sportsman
It all began in 1950 when hunting and fishing enthusiast C. R. ‘Dutch’ Youker opened a small sporting goods store at Monroe and First Street in downtown Harlingen, Texas. It didn’t take long for the business aspect to overwhelm the fun aspect of hunting and fishing for “Dutch” and he soon passed the little store to his son and daughter-in-law R.D. ‘Bob’ and Betty Youker. From 1951 until 1986 The Sportsman grew to locations in McAllen and San Benito in addition to the main location in Harlingen.
Shallow Sport
The Shallow Sport family has been building boats for over 3 generations. Willis Isaac Hudson was a pioneer in the industry and produced one of the first fiberglass moulded motorboats in 1942. His legacy continued through his son, Willis “Rex” Hudson, when he designed and built the very first Shallow Sport Boat in 1982. Today, Weslee “Wes” Hudson, carries the Shallow Sport torch, and like his father and grandfather before him, he continues innovate new boat designs and constantly strives to perfects new ways to make boats safer, longer lasting, and more efficient. Three generations of boat building have produced a highly evolved line of fishing vessels that set themselves apart from the competition. Today, Shallow Sport Boats are regarded as some of the best fishing boats on the market.
